The Federal Government have committed $140 million over 10 years to the construction and revamping of heavy vehicle rest areas.
The initiative means truck drivers will have more options for breaks when travelling through the regions.
Local governments can apply for funding through the Australian Government’s Heavy Vehicle Rest Area grant funding opportunity.

A survey is also available for truck drivers and road users to have their say on the location and condition of existing rest areas and where additional areas are needed.
