The South Australian Mines Emergency Response Competition is heading for Whyalla this October.
The competition is designed to test the skills and knowledge of mine emergency response teams and will be held in and around Whyalla’s CBD.
This is the first time the event will be held in a South Australian regional town or city – usually being held at remote mine sites.

Whyalla Mayor Phill Stone says this will have major benefits for the city, including an influx of visitors and emergency response workers coming to watch the seven teams compete – providing an economic and social boost to the city.
