Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and SA Premier Peter Malinauskas were in Whyalla yesterday to invest a combined $100 million to develop infrastructure at Port Bonython, ensuring it becomes South Australia’s first large-scale export terminal for hydrogen.
Mr Albanese says the town will continue to grow and will make a big contribution to the nation – going as far as to say, “There’s nowhere you’d rather be than Whyalla.”
The redeveloped Port Bonython is expected to host projects worth up to $13 billion and generate as much as 1.8 million tonnes of hydrogen by 2030.
