A Port Lincoln man charged for drug possession in Bali will likely escape prison, with prosecutors recommending he serve time in rehab instead.
Local father of two, Troy Smith was allegedly caught with meth inside his hotel room and was facing up to 12-years in jail and a fine of over $740,000 Aussie.
However in court late last week, his charges were downgraded to personal drug use.

We’re told Mr Smith’s “politeness during trial”, admission to drug use and his family position are behind the decision.
His sentence is set to be handed down on Thursday.
