In the wake of the announcement of Port Lincoln RSPCA’s closure, the Council has expressed gratitude for the shelter.
Port Lincoln City Council was informed of the decision to close last week and underwent discussions about whether the shelter’s on-site presence could remain.
It was found to be unsustainable due to the lease renewal and rising costs.

The Council says it remains committed to ensuring the welfare of stray animals in the city and will work closely with the RSPCA Whyalla team.
They also reminded locals that the inspector service will remain in Port Lincoln for cruelty reports.
