We already know the Eyre Peninsula has some of the best beaches in the world, and now one of our beaches has a new title that proves it.
According to a new ranking from Tourism Australia, the Eyre Peninsula’s Fishery Bay has been named as the sixth best beach in Australia.
Fishery Bay Surf Reserve Community chairperson Ngahuia Trewartha said the community plays a big role in the preservation of the beach, calling it a very special place for locals.

Fishery Bay beat out more than 1,200 other beaches, with a 130-point beach assessment.
It was also the only South Australian beach to be named on the list.
