Police are reminding heavy vehicle drivers to ensure loads are safely restrained following an incident in Whyalla.
Around 1:15am on Saturday morning, 16 December, police stopped a vehicle over concerns about scrap metal and other objects hanging off the trailer.
Further inspections revealed numerous load restraint breaches, resulting in a cease work direction notice being issued to immediately rectify the safety issues.
The 41-year-old Eyre Peninsula man was issued with several expiation notices totalling $2,593 and 3 demerit points.
SAPOL reports a total of 1,456 crashes involved heavy vehicles in South Australia in 2022, and contributed to 14 fatalities and 33 serious injury crashes.
