A Port Lincoln High School student has received the Harding Miller Scholarship from the Harding Miller Education Foundation.
The charity offers scholarships to girls in public high schools who experience socioeconomic disadvantage but have high academic potential.
Year 9 student Madison Gotch went through an extensive written application process last year and was in the running against hundreds of students across Australia before being selected as one of the recipients.
She was flown to Sydney with her family to receive her scholarship which includes a laptop, high-speed internet, pre-paid expense cards for school supplies, four years of online IT support, and tutoring.
Each scholar also receives a personal coach to guide them through the four years of the program towards career experiences and tertiary pathways.
