The Lions International Skin Cancer Screening Clinic screened 139 attendees in Tumby Bay over the weekend.
Patients consisted of 58 men and 81 women, and 38 of those will need to undergo further testing to determine if their lesions require additional investigation or treatment.
Team leader of the operation Ian Marshall said 84 people out of the 139 screened had never been screened before and stressed the importance of checking skin lesions and any changes to moles or discoloured skin.
The mobile screening unit is in Cummins today and tomorrow and will be in Wudinna on the weekend to provide a valuable resource for regional residents to access skin checks.
