A 28-year-old Ceduna man has been arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assaulting emergency services workers, and attempted escape from custody.
Around 5pm on Thursday last week, police were called to a home in Ceduna after reports of an assault.
When police arrived they located the victim, a 34-year-old woman who is known to the suspect, with a number of injuries.
She was transported to hospital in stable condition.
When the two attending officers attempted to arrest the suspect, he became violent, stabbing an officer in the chest.
Luckily, her multi-purpose load-bearing vest protected her from the blow.
The man was tasered and placed under arrest.
He was refused bail and appeared in the Ceduna Magistrates Court on Friday, 1 September.
