More than four-million Aussies are planning trips to the regions this summer, but many are unprepared for wild weather.
Despite bushfire concerns, 57 per cent of surveyed travellers admit they will not be monitoring local weather conditions or alerts.
NRMA Insurance’s Natalie Major says taking a moment to plan now could help avoid unnecessary danger.
“We encourage you to know your risk and prepare your property before you travel this holiday season, she says.
“If you are exploring an unfamiliar destination, consider the local weather risks and keep an eye on conditions and prepare your home for wild weather before you leave by shutting windows and securing loose items.”
