Surf Life Saving SA has welcomed half a million dollars in support for shark safety initiatives.
Aerial surveillance has also been extended on weekends, school holidays and public holidays in Summer.
Head of SLS in SA Damien Marangon told SEVEN NEWS he’s glad money is also going into regional education programs, improved signage at beaches and additional trauma kits.

While there were no fatal attacks anywhere in South Australia between 2015 and 2022, three surfers were killed by sharks in separate incidents last year.
In the past twelve months, there have been 12 sightings of sharks on the Eyre Peninsula.
