Police arrested seven youths when they were caught driving a stolen car from Adelaide to Whyalla on Monday night.
Police spotted the stolen Subaru north of Whyalla after it had been reported stolen from a Broadview home on Sunday.
Police pursued the car as it continued south on Lincoln Highway, but lost sight after its tyres were spiked on Arthur Glennie Drive.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in scrub between McBryde Terrace and Charles Avenue.
Officers searched the area and found the seven youths – aged between 13 and 15 – hiding in the backyard of a McBryde Terrace property.
All seven were arrested and refused police bail.
They appeared in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 1 August, and were charged with breach of bail and aggravated driving without due care.
