A State Dinner was held in Government House on 13 June to recognise Whyalla’s important contributions to the state.
Hosted by Her Excellency, the Honourable Frances Adamson, Governor of South Australia, the dinner catered for around 70 Members for Parliament, State business and civic leaders, City of Whyalla Council representatives, and Whyalla business, community and youth representatives.
The Governor of South Australia said she was impressed by Whyalla’s potential.
“The City of Whyalla is vital to South Australia’s economic and social fabric, driving growth and development across multiple sectors,” Her Excellency said.
A message from Mayor Phill Stone said the Council understands this is the first time Government House has hosted a State Dinner for a regional city.
