A number of local airports and aerodromes have received thousands of dollars through the Support Regional Aviation Program.
The State Government is committing over $400,000 towards upgrading six aerodromes across the state, including replacing gable markers at the Lock Aerodrome, improving lighting at the Port Lincoln Airport terminal and carpark and resealing the runway, taxiway and apron at the Wudinna Aerodrome.
Minister for Local Government, Geoff Brock, said in a statement the upgrades are crucial for emergency service providers, as aviation facilities often play a critical role in emergencies by giving first responders better and quicker access at all hours.
